Keeper
Visual Trait IndexA glider who sacrifices their ability to fly in exchange for a larger, more robust form is known as a keeper. Their bodies are more resistant towards malevolent magic, and their strength as well as stamina is unparalleled. Keepers achieve their enhanced bodies through completing ancient body altering rites. Keepers are also equipped with a longer lifespan, aging slower and living up to 300 cycles.
Undoing such rites takes a tremendous amount of resources and is usually a near-permanent decision, so keepers are well respected and often hold high positions in glider society as most aren’t willing to sacrifice their abilities of flight for the safety and protection of their community.
Even so, some look down on them, believing that to sacrifice their wings means throwing away their ancestral blessing for worldly gain.
